How much does a hair transplant cost?
How much does a hair transplant cost?
Since we do not sell template solutions but look for the most suitable therapy for the problems of each patient who turns to us, we cannot define an exact price without a preliminary examination and consultation. We calculate our hair transplant prices based on the number of grafts to be transplanted, the current prices of which you can find here: > Hair transplant prices
For information, we can say in advance that a procedure of this standard costs from 2,000 to 10,000 euros in Western Europe, while in Hungary it is significantly cheaper, yet the TRIVELLINI MAMBA hair transplant procedure we use is more advanced than in other countries.
How effective are anti-hair-loss products?
We can sort the known alternatives into two main categories: there are products for oral use and products for external use. Tablets - the medications wrongly called "hormonal" - inhibit the negative effect of the androgen hormone that causes baldness, dihydrotestosterone - DHT. However, they do not guarantee that baldness will stop for good, considering that several factors present side by side are responsible for baldness, not only the hormonal effect. So they can only slow the process, but do not stop it.
Products for external use slow the process of baldness with other effects that are not yet fully understood. These products mostly contain an alcoholic solution of minoxidil, a drug formerly used as a blood pressure lowering agent, or an alternative to it. Newer products (such as the medically backed FolliOne product family) are no longer alcohol-based, and there are also other natural substances that help the absorption of the external product and its reaching the skin at the proper depth and increase the strength of the effect. With these products, however, you must know that a few months are needed for their effect to develop - usually three months pass until the result becomes visible. To achieve the full effect and to maintain the head of hair, constant use of external products is needed, since after stopping the products hair loss may continue. The only lasting and permanent solution is considered to be hair transplantation.
What solutions are there for treating my hair loss and baldness?
The causes of certain types of hair loss, including by far the most common hormonal baldness, are already partly known. Therefore there are preparations containing extracts verified by clinical studies that treat the actual causes of hair loss, but none of them provides a complete solution, and their effect may vary from person to person. In general it can be said that external and internal products, as well as our regenerative therapies and our PRP therapy, mainly slow or stop hair loss, but are not suitable for completely restoring the hair. So for now only a properly performed hair transplant gives a genuine, natural result.
How do I decide whether my hair loss is natural or baldness has already started?
Normally hair loss is around 30-150 hairs a day, but this can vary depending on metabolism and tissue characteristics. Looking in the mirror and comparing with an older photo, you can decide whether your hairline has changed. Baldness usually starts at the front on the forehead and on both sides. Hair loss also depends on the individual's hair color: with lighter hair the shedding of even 100-120 hairs a day can be considered normal, while with darker hair this number may already indicate a balding process, for them a value around 60-70 is the average shedding. Hair loss also has general characteristics, which develop according to the Norwood scale in men and the Ludwig type in women.
Why should I choose the TRIVELLINI MAMBA hair transplant, what makes it better than the conventional one?
The TRIVELLINI MAMBA hair transplant method is a revolutionary, further developed version of the follicular unit extraction technique. The MAMBA is customizable and parameterizable, so the device can be set to the individual characteristics of each patient. The procedure resembles skin tattooing much more than an average surgery, so it offers an aesthetic, traceless and lasting solution. The hair transplant method carries a very low wound and surgical risk. The possible complications are also so mild that in several countries it is classified not among surgical but among dermatological procedures.
If noticeably more hairs keep falling out, is this a clear sign of the start of the balding process?
No. Hair loss can be caused by very many factors. It can have not only hereditary and hormonal causes, and it does not depend only on the aging process, which are the three most common causes of baldness.
Hair loss can start from even a tiny change, such as poor nutrition, vitamin deficiency, impaired blood and oxygen supply due to smoking, surface problems of the skin; a chill of the scalp, an irritating shampoo, an unsuitable hairstyle. Hair loss can also be caused by injury to the scalp, persistent inflammation in the body, or skin fungus. Of course more serious changes may also lie in the background, such as tumors or other diseases affecting the hormonal balance, or other natural processes such as pregnancy or the climacteric.
If there are bald people in my family, will this process certainly start for me too?
Although baldness is largely a hereditary process, you do not necessarily have to expect it, but if there are people in your family struggling with a similar problem, the probability of baldness is much greater. Whether we will carry the improperly functioning genes in ourselves is decided partly on the X chromosome - in men this is the part inherited from the mother - and partly on other, so-called autosomal chromosomes, but the genes inherited from the father are also decisive.
At what age does hair thinning and baldness usually begin?
In men baldness can already begin in adolescence, but most often it first appears only in their thirties. Basically it is of genetic origin, but often environmental factors - such as stress, poor nutrition, illnesses, inflammations - can influence the time of appearance and the speed of its course. In more than a third of those over 35 the process has certainly already begun. In women baldness can also begin in their twenties, but it is more common for it to start in their mid-to-late thirties.
When will I see the result?
The growth of the transplanted hair starts after the first three months. The final result, depending on metabolism, develops by the end of the 10th-12th month. From then on it grows completely naturally, throughout your whole life.
Will my transplanted hair look natural?
Yes, absolutely. There will be no visible difference between the old hair and the new hair we place. After the third week following the procedure, the transplanted hair will behave in the same way as the hair that was originally there. Thanks to the placement technique we developed, it grows in exactly the same way, at precisely the angle and direction that the patient agreed with the clinic's specialists.
Whose hair is transplanted? Is a donor needed too?
In the case of hair transplantation the donor and the recipient are the same person, so we transplant your own hair - this is autotransplantation. If we transplanted the hair of non-identical twins, the recipient's body would not be able to accept it, unless they take anti-rejection medication all their life.
How many sessions are needed for the final result?
This depends on the size of the balding area, the characteristics of the donor area, and your wishes. To achieve an especially high density we generally recommend repeating the first procedure, but if you insist on a hair transplant to be completed in a single procedure, it can of course be done.
How dense will my new hair be?
It depends on individual characteristics, but we generally recommend a density of 80-100 hairs/cm2, so the individual hairs will be at most 1 millimeter apart. A higher density can also be achieved, even in a single procedure, but then we must use special tools.
Can grey, darker or colored hairs be selected?
Yes, of course it can be done without any problem, thanks to the sophistication of the method, so we do not transplant grey or weakened hairs.
If my hair is thinning but is still there in many places, do I have to wait until it falls out completely?
You do not have to wait. Suitable hair can be transplanted among the existing, thinning hair without any problem. However, the procedure must in any case be preceded by a skin and hair analysis examination. The procedure can take place only after a diagnosis covering every detail has been established, and it is generally recommended only above the age of 24.
Do I need to take time off after the procedure?
It is not necessary. But it is worth spending the 3-4 days after the hair transplant free of any physical and emotional strain.
Whom can I turn to with my observations after the procedure?
Our clinic continuously monitors the growth of your hair. It is advisable to attend the check-ups recommended by our doctors, because this way they can see the continuous thickening of your hair, and you can learn new things from us about every area of hair care.
Does the FUE method have side effects?
During the first three weeks after the procedure, mild itching may appear in places on the regenerating skin. The skin at the placement and extraction sites may be sensitive for a few days, but after 2-3 days our patients do not feel any difference between the procedure site and the intact skin. The patient can leave the clinic on the day of the procedure; no further aftercare or pain relief is needed.
Do I have to have my hair cut for the procedure?
It is not necessary. The procedure can be done at any hair length, although it is better to cut the hair short in the donor area. For our long-haired patients we can also use a special extraction method, so it is not necessary to go to the hairdresser before the procedure.
Will I not miss the hair from where it is taken?
No. On the sides and back, in the horseshoe-shaped area from which we take the quantity needed for the transplant, there are on average 60-80,000 hairs. If we transplant 10,000 of these, it does not show, thanks to the individually prepared procedure plan. Nevertheless 5-6 thousand hairs is usually enough.
What guarantees that my transplanted hair will stay?
We transplant the hair itself - as opposed to the outdated method still used elsewhere, where pieces cut out of the scalp are moved. The relocated hair retains its old characteristics, just as a person does not fundamentally change when they move house. Our clinic of course offers a warranty on the procedures performed, the details of which you can learn at the consultation.
